Office Work Comp Assistant

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Ensure medical billing and coding for all workers compensation claims and reports
  • Translate patient information into alphanumeric medical code for workers comp claims
  • Prepare First Reports, Narrative Reports and authorizations
  • Follow up with insurance companies and claims adjusters regarding prior authorizations
  • Initiate and write appeals to workers compensation payers( SBR-1 forms)
  • Other duties as assigned or requested

 

Required Job Qualifications: Experience / Knowledge :

 

  • 1-2or more years of workers comp. billing
  • ICD10 Code knowledge /OMFS knowledge
  • Organizational and mathematical skills
  • Written and oral communication skills
  • Fluency in verbal and written English
  • Computer and typing skills (e.g. Excel, Word, and standard industry software)

 

Other:

 

  • Ability to learn new computer programs and software/ caretracker software used
  • Ability to keep confidential information secure
  • Bilingual is a plus! But not necessary( Spanish or Korean)

 

Required education:

 

  • High school or equivalent
  • CPC Certificate Plus or 1-2 plus year experience
