A day in the life as a Medical Billing Support Specialist

As a Medical Billing Support Specialist, you run reports, analyze and trend coding data, enter KPI and productivity numbers, perform raw data checks, and sort and mail denials. You request information from facilities to support documentation, run reconciliation sources for audits, and document retrieval of revenue cycle and contract coding audit lists. You track coding education units and validate coder credentials and update spreadsheets. You will assist with the annual coding seminar and updating the timeclock scheduler.

Your attention to detail, time management, analytical, and Excel skills are essential to your success. You enjoy being a part of our Coding team!

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to run reports and analyze and trend data
  • Proficient keyboard and 10-key skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Attention to detail, accurate, and strong organizational skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Adaptability to learn new software systems
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as a team
  • Ability to perform in a fast pace environment and produce quality work
  • Previous experience in a professional office environment
  • Certification or associate degree in a related area of study preferred OR a minimum of 2 years medical billing and/or coding experience

WORK SCHEDULE

The typical schedule for this position is Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, but hours are flexible.
