Patient Account Services (PAS) Representative opportunity! HealthPro Medical Billing in Lima, OH is seeking a PAS Representative to join our team.

Responsibilities of the PAS Representative include:

  • Handling and resolving various types of inbound and outbound calls.
  • Responding to patient telephone or internet inquiries regarding their account status.
  • Returning patient phone calls and following up on verbal or electronic information.
  • Communicating with client/hospitals to resolve patient account issues.
  • Updating account Information in the billing system.
  • Adhering to department quality assurance consistency and quality assurance.
  • Meeting productivity measures.
  • Processing all account related activities in accordance to company guidelines and work instructions.
  • Performing projects and tasks as assigned.
  • Escalating problems or concerns to management.
  • Maintaining current work instructions for applicable functions at all times.
  • Maintaining working knowledge of websites to resolve patient account issues.


  • Working knowledge of Explanation of Benefits
  • Proficient keyboarding skills
  • Experience in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Adaptability to learn new software systems
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently or as a team
  • Ability to multi-task and perform in a fast pace environment

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED required; certification or degree in related area of study preferred. One to two years of medical billing and/or customer service experience required. Knowledge and experience with concepts such as deductibles, co-pays, in-network/out-of-network, primary and secondary coverage, Medicaid, Medicare, and Workers Compensation desired. Equivalent combinations of work experience and education will be considered. Must be able to multi-task, problem solve, understand Explanation of Benefits and work at a fast pace.
