Description

The Compliance Coordinator will help ensure that the company's employees and processes adhere to rules established to meet corporate and regulatory requirements. This role will bring organization and structure to compliance efforts and assist in maintaining employee awareness. The Compliance Coordinator requires high attention to detail, the ability to manage and meet regulatory deadlines, and the ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.  The Compliance Coordinator works with, and reports to, the Compliance Manager.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

  • Ensure all U.S. employees are current in annual HIPAA training and required documents;
  • Deliver compliance documents and training modules to new hires during onboarding;
  • Assist with HIPAA Business Associate Agreement process completion with clients and subcontractors;
  • Oversee the delivery, review, and completion of HIPAA subcontractor Satisfactory Assurance Questionnaires;
  • Develop written procedures and other documents to support Compliance Department functions;
  • Stay current on HIPAA compliance objectives and assist in tracking and providing status updates on network risk assessments, employee compliance, policies and procedures, and client or vendor matters;
  • Complete tasks associated with ongoing or special projects related to HIPAA or corporate compliance, including hiring/termination procedures and monitoring task completion of other departments;
  • Assist in compliance investigations and resolutions;
  • Work with Human Resources to document HIPAA and corporate compliance enforcement measures;
  • Assist in completing and documenting occasional on-site compliance audits (some travel required);
  • Prepare agendas and track action items for recurring HIPAA compliance meetings;
  • Assist in development, implementation, and enforcement of Corporate Compliance program policies and procedures.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

  • 4 year degree preferred
  • Paralegal experience or certificate a plus
  • 1+ year of HIPAA experience preferred
  • Regulatory or corporate compliance experience a plus
