WELL-VERSED MEDICAL COLLECTIONS SPECIALIST to serve as the liaison between Insurance companies, patients, and Providers. This critical role is responsible for ensuring accurate billing, timely claim submissions, monitoring claim status, and researching rejections and denials. They are responsible for observing accounts to identify overdue payments both from the Insurance company and the patient, they will address client queries.

The medical billing and collection specialist must possess critical thinking skills and understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and most National Commercial Plans. In addition, the medical billing and collection specialist must demonstrate proficiency with billing system to ensure all functionality is utilized for the utmost efficient processing of claims.

Duties and Responsibilities:
•Responsible for AR follow up, appeals, denials, etc.
•Insurance collection calls and/or correspondence in a fast-paced goal-oriented department
•Responsible for monitoring and maintaining assigned accounts
•Accountable for reducing delinquency for assigned accounts
•Responsible to meet daily workload quotas to meet departments productivity expectation
•Monitor and follow-up on accounts by using insurance company's portals, and making telephone calls to assure timely resolution and accurate reimbursement
•Correct and adjust denied and or rejected claims to ensure proper payment is received
•Works all daily, weekly and monthly reports as assigned
•All other duties as assigned

Required Skills:
•2+ years of Medical Collections experience is required
•Experience with ASC, Hematology/Oncology, Specialty Pharmacy Drugs, Infusion Therapy is a PLUS
•EMR Software confident (experience with Ascend, Kareo, MicroMD, Modernizing Medicine, Practice EHR is a PLUS)
•Proficient in Medical Terminology and Insurance laws/Guidelines
•Superior organization and time management skills
