HealthPro Medical Billing, Inc. of Lima, OH is seeking to hire a part and full-time remote Pathology Coder to review medical interpretation documentation and health records to abstract necessary information for appropriate CPT, ICD-10, and MIPS (as applicable) coding. As a Pathology Coder, you assign CPT procedure codes and diagnostic (ICD-10) codes on all medical records, and as appropriate, MIPS and modifiers to CPTs to ensure proper billing and reimbursement. You review, as applicable, engine assigned codes/modifiers and update as necessary, and review and/or assign patient severity of index illness ratings, supplemental codes, and other data. You compile and maintain logs, reports, and statistical records, and research records to locate health data. You will maintain knowledge of new and revised codes as well as industry regulations to complete accurate coding services, including local coverage determinations. You will update reports for tracking of workflow and trending and identify and track dictation opportunities. You will be expected to meet and maintain productivity and quality goals.

  • Previous experience in pathology coding required

  • Coding certification AND a minimum of 2 years of coding experience
