Description

The Payment Posting Specialist is accountable for ensuring that all deposits are uploaded to the billing system daily, Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) is available for posting, posting of the daily batches are reconciled to the bank account daily and all are completed before month-end close. The main objective is to review all deposits and transactions on a daily basis, identify issues and/or trends, and watch for payment accuracy and underpayments.

Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Post all manual and electronic payments to patient's accounts
  • Perform reconciliation with the bank and other month-end procedures
  • Identify patterns of over-payments, under-payments, or trends
  • Identify billing errors, inaccurate payments, and posting errors and resolve them accordingly
  • Review remittance advice for accuracy
  • Assure all daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines are met in the cash application process
  • Research and locate missing ERA/835/EOB using insurance portals and/or telephone
  • Act as a support expert to the Accounts Receivable team for all things relevant to payment posting
  • Various projects as assigned

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3+ years experience doing prior authorization for similar Specialty Prior Authorization (Mandatory)
  • Proficient math skills and ability to calculate HCPC units Mandatory
  • Proficient in Medical Terminology
  • Knowledge of Infusion Drugs Preferred
  • Deep knowledge and experience in billing and collecting major medical claims for home infusion, ambulatory infusion, and/or specialty pharmacy
  • Proficient knowledge of HCPCS, NDC, CPT, and ICD-10 coding
  • Ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of CMS 1500 and 837 claim formatting and billing process
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills with previous customer service experience
  • Basic knowledge of computer applications i.e. Word, Excel and operations
