Medical Billing Company is seeking a motivated Software Developer to join the MBMS Development Team. The ideal candidate will have experience with the identified operating system and programming languages listed under preferred experience. The successful candidate will report to the MBMS Senior Developer, and will partner with the rest of the team to make sure MBMS systems meet requirements, maintain security expectations, deliver services on time, and increase code reusability.

Job duties:

• Participate in all phases of software development and system management related to design, coding and thorough testing.
• Perform necessary software enhancements in a clean and timely manner.
• Provide technical support related to software issues.
• Must be able to question and process end user descriptions and translate that into technical requirements for working code.
• Make recommendations to management for software and system improvements.
• Maintain and ensure up time of billing server, reporting database, web inquiry tools, etc.
• Work on special projects, initiatives and lead as needed.
• Respect the confidential nature of this position.
• Perform other job-related duties as required.

Education and Experience:

• Degree in Computer Science or related field, preferred
• 5+ years relevant experience
• Healthcare/Medical experience, preferred

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in Universe or other Pick operating system preferred but not required.
• Experience with Pick Basic programming language preferred but not required.
• Experience with Red Hat Linux operating system preferred but not required.
• Experience with x12 EDI, HL7 and other file formatting standards helpful but not required.
• Experience leading a team/projects helpful but not required.

Qualifications:

• Excellent knowledge of the software development life cycle
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to learn quickly and work independently or as part of a team
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
